Heat oven to 180 C for 10 min. Grease and flour the 8” cake tin
Place softened unsalted butter, caster sugar and vanilla extract into a bowl and beat well to a creamy consistency.
Slowly beat in eggs, one by one, then fold in flour and mix well. bake for about 25 to 30 mins until risen and golden brown. You can check with knife.
When ready, remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 mins in the tin, before turning out onto a wire rack and cooling completely.

put cream between layers, top on the cake and sides as well. make a design according to your choice
