Ingredients

Serves : 2
  • 500gms fish cut into 1 1/2 inch cubes. (salmon/ surmai /rawas)


  • marination : 1 tspn.. Salt, haldi, Red Chilli, Garam Masala Powder


  • 1 tspn Tandoori color


  • 2 tspn Ginger & Garlic Paste


  • 100gms Besan or Gram Flour


  • 1/2 tspn Cumin pwdr


  • 1 tspn Amchoor pwdr


  • 1 tspn Ajwain


  • 1/2 cup water


  • 1 egg beaten


  • 2-3 cups Oil of frying


  • For Biryani Rice: 3 cups basmati rice (soaked)


  • 2-3 bay leaves 3 green cardamoms 5-6 peppercorn 1 cinnamon stick


  • 3 sliced onions


  • 2 chopped tomatoes


  • 1 cup spring onions chopped


  • 1/2 cup coriander leaves chopped


  • 2 green chillies finely chopped


  • 1 tsp turmeric pwdr 1/2 tsp red chilli pwdr 1 tsp Coriander pwdr


  • 1 tbsp salt


  • 3 tbsp oil ( use same in which fish was fried)

Directions

  • Clean and wash fish pieces Add Turmeric and salt keep it for 1/2 hour. Mix all the above ingredients except fish and make a thick batter Wash fish with water and remove turmeric and salt from fish pieces Add these washed fish pieces to the batter leave it to marinate for 1/2 an hour. Heat Oil & Deep fry marinated fish pieces in hot oil in a batch of 4 to 5 pieces Fry till it turns reddish brown in colour. Place it on absorbent tissue to clear off excess oil. Transfer it to a serving platter.
  • For Biryani Rice: Heat five to six cups of water in a big vessel . Add drained rice, salt cinnamon stick, peppercorns, bay leaves, cardamoms and cook till done.Drain and set aside. heat oil in kadhai . fry the sliced onions till golden crisp. add tomatoes, spring onions, red chilli ,turmeric , coriander pwdr & salt . stir well in a thick bottom pan spread half the rice in a layer & add the cooked tomato masala & sprinkle coriander leaves. Spread the remaining rice . Cover and cook under dum till done.
  • serve hot with fried fish & sliced onions.
