Ingredients

Serves : 5
  • 1 cups grated coconut


  • 3-4 nos pearl onions


  • 4-5 nos dried red chillies


  • 1 sprig curry leaves


  • 1-2 nos garlic


  • 1 nos ginger small piece(cut this into small pieces for ease while grinding)


  • 1 nos tamarind - small gooseberry size


  • 1 pinch salt


  • 150 ml cooking oil

Directions

  • Make oil hot in a frying pan and the items listed under B. Stir and fry for a few minutes. Then add the grated coconut, switch off the flame after a few minutes.
  • Leave it to cool.
  • Grind the above mixture with tamarind and salt. It is coarsely ground, without water and not for long time.
  • Remove from mixer/ grinder, drip a little oil, mix and serve with rice.
