Chicken Burger

Description

I've been wanting to make some burgers lately cause I have been craving it and all what McD and BK sells is just a little salty, yes delish, but lots of calories and other non-sense... K bought some mince the other day, so I decided to make some chicken burgers. Its quite a lot of fun and very easy ...

Ingredients

Serves :
  • chicken mince: lean meat

  • 1 large onion: diced

  • 2 green chillies: minced fine

  • 1 tsp garlic paste:

  • 1 tsp ginger paste:

  • 2 tbsps pesto:

  • coriander: chopped fine, including the stems!

  • 1 egg:

  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs:

  • salt

  • pepper

  • to Fry oil

  • hamburger buns

  • salad leaves

  • mayo

  • ones pickles: i used the i made at home, jalapenos & cucumbers

  • cheese: your favorite kind

Directions

  • Saute the onions, green chillies, garlic and ginger pastes until the onions have softened
  • All you need is one bowl to mix the following together: Chicken Mince, the onion mixture, pesto, the fresh coriander, salt, pepper, bread crumbs, egg and the pesto. Mix it up real good and start making your patties
  • If you have a grill, take it to the grill. If not pour some oil into a frying pan and on medium low, start cooking the burgers. When it started to brown up a little, I flipped it to the other side and continued cooking
  • I didn't want to cook the patties forever in lots of oil, so I just topped each burger with a slice of cheese and stuck it in the oven (180C) and let it finish up cooking. Once the burgers are ready, the signal would be the aroma! YUMMY :) Drain on absorbent paper and set aside
  • Time to assemble: I went with sesame buns (double YUM), toast it a little if you like. Spread some mayo, then the salad leaves, top it with a burger, squirt some ketchup if needed and some pickles if you like it
  • SERVE!
