Ingredients

Serves : 3 serving
  • 1cup wheat flour


  • 1/2 of 1 grated coconut


  • to taste salt


  • water

Directions

  • Add  salt  and half of the grated coconut to 3 tbsp  of water
  • Mix well
  • Then to this add  wheat flour and mix well with ur hand
  • The mixture should be just wet or moistened
  • Whole wheat flour should not be dry but wet enough for steaming
  • Close and  keep aside for 10 minutes
  • I used to steam puttu using a small cooker
  • So boil water in the cooker ,close the lid but don't put weight
  • Wait for the steam to  come
  • Then in the puttu mould add 1 tbsp of grated coconut ,in the top of that add wet what flour mix..(don't press the flour tightly ,just fill it..thts all)
  • Close the mould and place in the nozzle  of the cooker and  allow to cook for minimum 10 minutes
  • Serve hot with banana ,kadala curry ,sugar …
