Ingredients

Serves :
  • rice flour


  • shredded coconut


  • to Taste salt


  • water


  • sugar


  • banana

Directions

  • Mix the rice flour, coconut (freshly grated or store bought) and salt in a bowl
  • Slowly add some water and mix as you pour the water
  • The idea is to form mini rice lumps, just like you would with the crumble for an apple crumble
  • If you have an electric rice cooker
  • use the steamer tray and cook it until done
  • If you have a pressure cooker, cook it without putting the pressure cooker whistle
  • Serve it hot with some bananas and a sprinkle of sugar
  • Keep some coconut handy to sprinkle on the puttu once its cooked
