  • Material :- 👇✍️ ▪️ 1/2 cup yellow moong dal ▪️ 1/2 cup chana dal ▪️ 1 cup jaggery ▪️ 1 cup chopped dry fruits (almonds, cashews, pistachios, little raisins) ▪️1/4 cup grated coconut ▪️ 1 tsp cardamom powder ▪️ 1/2 cup ghee

  • Traditional ukkarai is an offering offered as naivedya during Diwali in temples, especially in South India. It is made on auspicious occasions and festival. This sweet made of lentils and jaggery is a form of pudding method 👇 🔸 Dry roast the pulses on a low flame in a thick bottom pan, when they turn slightly pink, keep them soaked for about 3 - 4 hours and then grind them. 🔸 Now heat ghee in a pan (save 1 tsp ghee) add ground dal pithi (paste) to it and roast till it becomes golden brown and crumbly. Put 1/4 water in it and put it on the flame and cook it till it thickens a little and add it to the roasted lentils and cook it for a little more while frying the mixture, it will leave the bottom of the pan leaving the ghee. Just ready delicious ukkarai now chopped nuts, raisins garnished with coconut
