  • 2 cups wheat flour

  • 2 tsp active dry yeast

  • 1 tsp Salt

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 2 tsp oil


  • Heat 1 cup water in pan, once lukewarm add yeast and sugar and let them dissolve for 5 mins
  • In large bowl take wheat flour and salt. Knead the dough using yeast solution. Add oil to the dough and make it soft. Cover the dough with wet cloth and keep it for 2 hours
  • After 2 hrs, knead the dough using oil on the palms and then make small balls and keep a side for another 15mins
  • I used idli maker, can use oven also.
  • If using idli maker, don't add water at bottom and cook on both sides with low flame. Turn buns upside down after 10 mins. Brush with butter or oil
