Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1 cup-green peas


  • 3 cups - milk 1tbsp-ghee


  • 1 tsp-cardamom cardamom powder


  • 1/2 cup-suger


  • 1/2 cup-khoya


  • 1/2 tsp-saffron


  • 1/2 cup-chopped almonds and pistachios

Directions

  • Boil green peas in a cooker with a cup of water. Pressure cook for 2 whistles.
  • Strain and allow the cooked peas to cool. When it cool down add them in a grinder and make a smooth puree.
  • Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a pan .Add matar puree.keep stirring the puree on low flame for 2-3 minutes.
  • When the mixture starts to thickens add milk in batches. Keep stirring continuously while adding milk.
  • Add khoya,cardamom powder and Suger.stir and mix. Add saffron stand.
  • Cook the kheer for another 4-5 minutes on low flame. Add some chopped nuts.
  • Once the kheer comes in thick consistency. Switch off the flame. Once the kheer cools it will thicken.when the kheer cool down in room temperature then refrigerate.
  • Serve matar kheer chilled garnish with chopped almonds and pistachios.
