Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1 cup-all purpose flour


  • 2 tbsp-samolina


  • 4 tbsp-ghee


  • 1/3 cup-lukewarm water


  • 1 cup-oil

Directions

  • In a bowl add all purpose flour and samolina. Add ghee and knead it with your fingers until the dough turns crumbly and resemblance bread crumbs. . Now add lukewarm water to it and mix. Make soft dough . cover and keep aside for 10 minutes.
  • After 10 minutes make large sized ball. Roll it into 1/4 inch thick and 5 inch diameter. Poke the rolled out mathri with fork or knife. So that it doesn't fluff up while frying.
  • Heat oil in a kadhai and When it is medium hot fry the mathri for 2-3 minutes each side till golden brown in colour.
  • Store it in air tight container when completely cool.
  • Serve with pickle and a hot cup of tea.
