Ingredients

Serves 4

  • For pidi : Rice Flour 2 cups

  • Grated Coconut 1/2 cups

  • cumin powder 1/2 tsp

  • Coconut Milk 2 cups

  • Water 2 cups

  • Salt as required 1 tsp

  • Butter 1 tsp

  • For kozhi : Boneless Chicken 1 kgs

  • Onion chopped 2 nos

  • chicken masala 1 tsp

  • Ginger-Garlic Paste 1 tsp

  • Cinnamon 1 nos

  • Cloves 3 nos

  • Coconut Oil 4 tbsp

  • Salt as required 1 tsp

  • Curry leaves 2 sprig

  • Coconut Milk (1st extract) 1/2 cups

  • Coconut Milk (2nd extract) 1 cups

  • Coconut Milk (3rd extract) 2 cups

Directions

    For Pidi : Boil water with butter.

    In a bowl add rice flour, cumin powder, salt, grated coconut and mix to the hot water .let it cool

  • 03

    kneed it with hand and make small gooseberry size balls and keep aside.

    In a pan boil the coconut milk

  • 05

    Add rice dumpling, bring to boil. Once the coconut milk starts boiling, reduce the flame and cook in low flame

  • 06

    When dumplings are cooked, add salt and remove from flame

  • 07

    For kozhi : Heat oil in pan and splutter cloves and cinnamon.

    Add onion, ginger-garlic paste and saute

  • 09

    Reduce the flame and add curry leaves, chicken masala and saute

  • 10

    Add chicken pieces and saute well.

  • 11

    Add 3rd extract of coconut milk, mix well and cook with lid closed.

    Once the chicken is half cooked and gravy starts to thicken add 2nd extract of coconut milk

  • 13

    Once the chicken is cooked well and 1st extract of coconut milk and mix well.
