Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 2 cups for pidi : rice flour


  • 1/2 cups grated coconut


  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder


  • 2 cups coconut milk


  • 2 cups water


  • 1 tsp salt as required


  • 1 tsp butter


  • 1 kgs for kozhi : boneless chicken


  • 2 nos onion chopped


  • 1 tsp chicken masala


  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste


  • 1 nos cinnamon


  • 3 nos cloves


  • 4 tbsp coconut oil


  • 1 tsp salt as required


  • 2 sprig curry leaves


  • 1/2 cups coconut milk (1st extract)


  • 1 cups coconut milk (2nd extract)


  • 2 cups coconut milk (3rd extract)

Directions

  • For Pidi : Boil water with butter.
  • In a bowl add rice flour, cumin powder, salt, grated coconut and mix to the hot water .let it cool
  • kneed it with hand and make small gooseberry size balls and keep aside.
  • In a pan boil the coconut milk
  • Add rice dumpling, bring to boil. Once the coconut milk starts boiling, reduce the flame and cook in low flame
  • When dumplings are cooked, add salt and remove from flame
  • For kozhi : Heat oil in pan and splutter cloves and cinnamon.
  • Add onion, ginger-garlic paste and saute
  • Reduce the flame and add curry leaves, chicken masala and saute
  • Add chicken pieces and saute well.
  • Add 3rd extract of coconut milk, mix well and cook with lid closed.
  • Once the chicken is half cooked and gravy starts to thicken add 2nd extract of coconut milk
  • Once the chicken is cooked well and 1st extract of coconut milk and mix well.
