2 big Potatoes
2 cup Cooking oil to deep fry
1 teaspoon of Salt
1/2 teaspoon of Chilli powder
1/4th teaspoon Garlic powder
Clean and wash potatoes nicely and slice them with skin on .
Be sure that the potatoes should be sliced so thin , almist like transparent paper.
Wash the sliced potatoes a number of times to remove all the starch from the potatoes. You should wash the potatoes until you get clean water.
Drain the above potato slices and soak them in ice cold water for 30 minutes. Also add in 1/2 teaspoon of salt in the ice cold water.
In the mean time in a bowl, mix in 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/ teaspoon of chilli powder and 1/4th teaspoon of garlic powder.
After 30 minutes of soaking drain the sliced potatoes and again wash in clean water.
Now drain them and spread them in such a way that any excess water from the potatoes dries up.
Heat sufficient oil in a pan to fry the chips.
Place some dry potato slices on the hot oil and fry them for about 40-50 seconds. Note that you place some pieces of potato slices and don't overcrowd them. Also fry in medium high heat.
Flip them in between and remove from oil as they changes colour and evaporates the moisture from chips. It will.take about 40 seconds to fry them. Dont over fry them which will give you chips with bitter taste.
Drain amd spread them in kitchen towel. Sprinkle some prepared seasoning when the chips are still hot.
Repeat the process to fry all the potato chips. It is necessary to maintain uniform heat while frying. Fry in medium high heat.
Delicious and crispy potato chips are ready. They taste exactly potato chips that we are purchasing from store. During thos lockdown period make them for your kids . I am sure they will love to have them.
