Peas Kheer with Pan Flavoured Tapioca Sago

Ingredients

Serves : 6
  • Green peas 1 cup


  • milk 5 cups


  • ghee 2 tbsp


  • sliced almonds 5


  • almonds 6-8 for garnishing


  • roasted melon seeds 1 tsp


  • raisins 8-10


  • green cardamom powder 1/2 tsp


  • sugar 1/2 cup


  • pan flavoured sago 1/2 cup


  • milk powder 1 tsp

Directions

  • wash and boil green peas for 8 mins. Refresh in cold water & grind to a fine paste.
  • Heat ghee in a thick-bottomed pan, add green peas paste and cook for a few minutes, stirring constantly.
  • once you get aroma, keep aside. Boil milk for 10-12 mins then add peas paste making sure no lumps are formed, cook for 6 mins.
  • Now add soaked sago (in a bowl take 1/2 cup sago wash with cold water , drain the water cover and keep for 15mins)
  • add sago to milk, bring it to a boil. cook on low heat for 12-14mins.
  • now add sliced almonds, milk powder, sugar, green cardamom powder, and raisins mix well
  • cook for about 6-8 minutes on low heat , stirring continuously.
  • Take off from the heat and allow to come to room temperature, garnish with roasted melon seeds and almonds. sprinkle green cardamom powder.
  • serve or keep in the refrigerator. to be served chilled.
  • this recipe can be served at room temperature or chilled. Enjoy peas Kheer
