In a pan heat sugar and water. Once the sugar turns golden brown remove from heat and pour into greesed steaming pot.
Heat milk and sugar in a pan. Now makes liquid of the custard powder by adding little milk and add it to the milk.
Mix well without any lumlps and switch off the flame.
Cut the bread slices into small pieces and add into hot milk. Add vanilla essence and whisk until smooth texture.
Pour into the custard mixture over the caremal mixture. Cover the tin with aluminum foil.Poke some holes in it and steam it in a steamer for 30 minutes.
Cool and refrigerate the pudding .
