Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour 1 cups

  • Salt 1/4 tsp

  • Vanilla extract 1 1/2 tsp

  • kirsch (cherry brandy) 1/4 cups

  • Hot Water 1 - 1 1/4 cups

  • Granulated sugar , divided 1 - 1 1/4 cups

  • Cherry pie filling (optional) 1/2 cups

  • Cocoa 3 tbsp

  • NOVA milk 1/2 cups

  • Light brown sugar packed 1/2 cups

  • NOVA butter , melted 1/3 cups

  • Cocoa 1/4 cups

  • Baking powder 2 tsp

Directions

    Heat oven to 350 degree F

    Combine 3/4 cup granulated sugar, flour, 3 tablespoons cocoa, baking powder and salt in large bowl

  • 03

    Add milk, melted butter and vanilla beat until smooth

  • 04

    Spread into 8-or 9-inch square baking pan

    Stir together remaining 1/2 cup granulated sugar, brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa in small bowl sprinkle mixture evenly over batter

    Combine hot water and kirsch pour over batter

  • 07

    Do not stir

  • 08

    Bake 40 minutes or until center is almost set

  • 09

    Let stand 15 minutes spoon into dessert dishes, spooning sauce from bottom of pan over top

  • 10

    Serve with cherries garnished on top
