Serves : 4
  • 2 cups gram flour / besan

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/2 cups water

  • 1/2 cups oil

  • 1 cups sugar

  • 1/2 cups water


  • In a wide mouth non stick pan,heat the water and add sugar to it
  • Keep stirring this, until it reaches 1 string consistency
  • Keep this aside
  • Mix flour and salt,Add water and make a smooth dough
  • Adjust water so it does not become sticky
  • Heat oil in a large frying pan
  • Fill the mould (with small holes,which batter can flow throug) the dough
  • Make way to drop sevas directly into the hot oil
  • Turn over to get both sides done as little brownish
  • Remove from oil when the color turns light brown
  • Drain on a kitchen towel and allow to cool
  • Repeat frying in batches until all the dough is finished
  • Heat sugar syrup in low flame and quickly add the seva pieces
  • Stir it well to get it coated with the sugar syrup
  • Remove from the pan and allow it to cool
  • Once cooled, store in an air tight container
