Ingredients

Serves : 5
  • 10 nos cleaned mathi meen ( sardine fish)


  • 1 cups curry leaves


  • 2 tbsp crushed garlic


  • 1 tbsp turmeric powder


  • .5 cups oil


  • 2.5 cups water


  • 3 piece malabar tamarind(kudampuli)

Directions

  • 1. Make a paste of the curry leaves with 1 cup of water. Keep aside
  • 2. Heat oil in a pan. When the oil is hot add 1 tsp turmeric powder, salt to taste and the fish pieces. Half fry the fish in the hot oil. Drain the fish and keep aside
  • 3. Add 1 tbsp Oil in a pan (Use the same oil used for frying the fish). Add the crushed garlic and fry till brown.
  • 4. Add salt to taste, remaining turmeric powder and the curry leaves paste and let it come to a boil
  • 5. Add the fried fishes and Malabar Tamarind(Kudampuli), cover the pan and cook on high heat for 12-15 mins
  • 6. Turn off the flame and serve hot with rice.
