1. Make a paste of the curry leaves with 1 cup of water. Keep aside
2. Heat oil in a pan. When the oil is hot add 1 tsp turmeric powder, salt to taste and the fish pieces. Half fry the fish in the hot oil. Drain the fish and keep aside
3. Add 1 tbsp Oil in a pan (Use the same oil used for frying the fish). Add the crushed garlic and fry till brown.
4. Add salt to taste, remaining turmeric powder and the curry leaves paste and let it come to a boil
5. Add the fried fishes and Malabar Tamarind(Kudampuli), cover the pan and cook on high heat for 12-15 mins
6. Turn off the flame and serve hot with rice.
