Wash and clean the greens, chop them up and keep aside.
Chop garlic and green chillies and keep aside.
In a pot, take some water and bring it to boil, will be required later.
Now take a thick bottom wok, add mustard oil and heat till just smoky hot.
Add the chopped garlic and green chilies to the wok and stir-fry for a couple of minutes, till they turn golden brown.
Now Add those chopped mustard greens to the wok And sauté for some time.
Then sprinkle the baking soda over the wok and wait for some time till the mustard greens shrink.
Add salt as per taste.
Then add the half broken rice powder and with that add boiling hot water and stir continually to avoid lumping of rice powder.
Once the concoction comes to a desired thickness, turn off the heat.
Transfer the khar to a bowl immediately.
This preparation is best eaten when hot, along with some rice.
