Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 4 nos gooseberries ( amla )


  • 2 nos green chilli


  • 2 nos red chilli


  • 8-10 nos curry leaves


  • 1 tsp salt


  • 2 cups raw or par boiled rice. soak for 15 minutes and cook.


  • 1 tbsp sesame oil


  • 1/2 tsp mustard


  • 1/4 tsp fenugreek


  • 1/2 tsp asafoetida


  • 1/4 tsp turmeric

Directions

  • Deseed Gooseberry. Grind it with green chilli in a blender.
  • In a kadai add sesame oil add mustard, Fenugreek and red chilli. Let mustard and Fenugreek splutter.
  • Add curry leaves asafoetida and immediately add the ground gooseberry mixture to avoid hing burning.
  • Add turmeric Powder, salt and saute it for a minute or two till raw smell goes away.
  • Add cooked rice and mix. Tasty and healthy gooseberry ( amla ) rice is ready to serve.
  • Serve it with any fried item of your choice.
