Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 15-20- hibiscus flowers


  • 20-25- Tulsi leaves


  • 1cup-rice flour


  • 1/2 cup-khoya


  • 1 tbsp-grated coconut


  • 1 tsp- cardamom powder


  • 1/2 tsp- salt


  • 1 tsp- ghee


  • 1 tbsp-chopped almonds and pistachios


  • 1 tbsp- powdered sugar


  • 2 tbsp- water or as required

Directions

  • Wash hibiscus flowers and tulsi leaves and remove stem. Grind them separately ina grinder and make a smooth paste adding some water
  • In a bowl take rice flour. Add a pinch of salt and divide it into equal parts. In one part add hibiscus paste and make a smooth dough and in another part add tulsi paste and make a smooth dough. Cover and set aside for 5 minutes.
  • In a bowl add khoya,powdered sugar,grated coconut,cardamom and chopped nuts and mix everything well.
  • Now take rice flour dough and make a small sized balls from both of dough. Grease your hand with ghee and Flattened rice balls on your palm and fill with khoya mixture and shape like modak with hands or with mould. prepare all modak like this.
  • Keep all prepared modak in steamer and steamed for 20-25 minutes. After 25 minutes remove from heat and cool down in room temperature and serve .
