Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1 cup-urad dal with skin


  • 2 cup-bathua leaves


  • 1 tbsp-chopped ginger-green chilli


  • 1 tsp-chopped garlic


  • 1/2 tsp-hing


  • 1 tsp-cumin seed


  • 1 tsp-red chilli powder


  • 1 tsp-garam masala powder


  • 1 tsp-salt or as to taste


  • 2 glass-water


  • 1 tbsp-ghee


  • 2-whole dry red chilli

Directions

  • Pluck,chopped and wash the bathua leaves in running water. Wash also urad dal with water.
  • In a cooker add 1 tsp ghee.add 1/2 tsp cumin seed and crackled. Add urad dal,bathua leaves,salt,garam masala powder and mix well. Cover the lid and cook for 3-4 whistles.off the flame.
  • In a tadka pan heat remaining ghee.add hing,remaining cumin seeds,chopped ginger-garlic-green chilli,red chilli powder and dry whole red chilli. Crackled. Open the lid of cooker and add prepared tadka into saagpaita. Mix and serve hot with rice or roti.
