Homemade Chicken Sriracha Pizza

  • FOR PIZZA SAUCE: 2 onions finely chopped

  • 2 tomatoes finely chopped

  • 1 green bell pepper diced

  • 3-4 minced garlic cloves

  • 1-2 green chilies finely chopped

  • 1/2 tsp carom seeds (ajwain)

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1/2 to 1 tsp red chili powder

  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup

  • 1 tbsp Sriracha sauce

  • 1 small can tomato paste

  • 1 tsp each salt and pepper or to taste

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 1/2 tsp apple cider vinegar (or any)

  • 1/4 cup garlic herbed Parmesan cheese (or any crumbled/grated cheese)

  • 1 tsp mixed herbs/Italian seasoning or as per taste

  • 3-4 tbsp olive oil------------------------------------------------

  • PIZZA TOPPINGS: 2 bowls shredded cooked chicken

  • 2 bowls baby spinach (optional)

  • 3 tomatoes, sliced (optional)

  • 2 large onions, sliced (optional)

  • 1 large capsicum, sliced------------------------------------------------

  • DOUGH FOR PIZZA BASE: 2-1/4 cups all purpose flour (maida)

  • 1 cup warm water

  • 1 envelope or 2-1/4 tsp dry yeast

  • 2 tsp sugar

  • 1 to 1-1/2 tsp salt

  • 3 + 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1/4 cup plain flour ( for dusting) or needed


  • FOR PIZZA DOUGH:In a large bowl, combine 1 cup flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Whisk well.
  • Add oil to warm water and then pour 1/4 cup water into dry ingredients and mix with spatula for a minute.
  • Now, add little flour at a time till all flour is used up along with warm water with each addition of flour.
  • Knead the dough for at least 10 minutes to make a very soft pliable dough.
  • Apply 1 tbsp oil to the dough and cover it with a clean damp kitchen towel.
  • Leave to rest for at least an hour or doubled in size in a warm dry place.
  • Punch the dough lightly and make 4 equal sections of the dough. Shape the dough in round balls tucking the ends together and sealing it.------------------------------
  • FOR PIZZA SAUCE: Heat skillet/pan with oil. Once oil is hot, add carom seeds. Stir fry for 2-3 seconds.
  • Add onions and green chilies. Cook the onions till they caramelize.
  • Add bell pepper and cook till just soft.
  • Add tomatoes and garlic. Sauté till tomatoes are soft and mushy.
  • Add red chili powder, tomato ketchup, tomato paste, Sriracha sauce, salt and pepper to taste.
  • Add little water and cook till oil separates.
  • Add vinegar and mix well. Season with herbs and finally add cheese. Mix thoroughly.
  • Cool the mixture before use.------------------------------
  • PIZZA ASSEMBLY: Preheat oven to 475 Deg F.
  • Prick the surface of pizza with fork randomly.
  • Brush the pizza including the rim with oil/melted butter mixed with garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
  • Lower temperature of oven to 400 Deg F.
  • Bake in oven for 5-7 minutes or till slightly crisp. Remove from oven.
  • Apply pizza sauce liberally covering the entire surface.
  • Spread cheese generously and add toppings of your choice.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or till cheese melts.
