  • 1 beetroot, peeled & grated

  • 1 tsp mango powder

  • 1 green chilli

  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste

  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 1 tsp cumin powder

  • 1 tsp Salt or to taste

  • 1½ cup wheat flour


  • Take a bowl, to this add grated beet and all spices, ginger- garlic paste & sesame seeds, mix well.
  • Now all flour to this and knead a dough using little water.
  • Form evenly sized balls of dough and flatten it using rolling pin to make theplas.
  • Heat tava, place one thepla over it. Let it cook for a while, keep pressing from edges with help of cloth knot or laddle and flip it.
  • Now apply very little ghee to grease the thepla, do this for other side too. Cook from both sides.
  • Do this for rest of the dough balls.
  • Serve it with yogurt.
