Ingredients

Serves 4

  • 1 cup toor dal

  • 1 onion finely chopped

  • 1 medium size potato cubes

  • 1 carrot sliced

  • 1 medium Cucumber chopped

  • 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 1 tsp cumin seeds

  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1/2 tsp Coriander powder

  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder

  • 1 tsp Garam masala

  • 2 tsp Sambar powder

  • 1 pinch of hing

  • 2 tbsp Red chilli powder

  • Salt to taste

  • 2 tsp chopped coriander leaves

  • 5-6 Curry leaves

  • 1 tomato finely chopped

Directions

    Firstly take the cooker pressure cook the soaked toor dal and vegetables until smooth.

    Heat the butter in a pan until melted.

  • 03

    Add mustard and Cumin seeds, pinch of hing, Curry leaves saute well and allow to splutter them.

    Next add Ginger garlic paste, chopped tomato saute well.

  • 05

    Now add cooked toor dal and vegetables mix well.

    Next add all spices mentioned above in ingredients mix well.

    Add salt to taste and 1/2 cup water boil it for 5 mins.

    Lastly garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

    Enjoy the toor dal veg sambar with Rice .
