Directions

  • In india, Sago Pearls Pudding is also known as Sabudana Kheer or payasam . Mostly prepared on the auspicious occasions of pious Falahar or fasting or vrat . This is most Delicious dessert which can be eaten during vrat, to satisfy sweet cravings . It's very light to digest , filling and easy to make . It can also be served as rich dessert while throwing a party . So let's have a look at its easy peasy recipe ,which is one of my most favourite.
  • First of all wash sabudana in running water 3 to 4 times.
  • Add some water and soak sabudana for about 1 to 2 hours
  • Assemble all the required ingredients
  • By the time sabudana will be double in size
  • Heat milk and allow it to boil, when it starts boiling add soak sabudana and keep stirring consistently on low heat . ( otherwise it sticks to bottom and may burn)
  • Cook sabudana in milk until it is transparent in texture
  • Add saffron strands and chopped dry fruits to it and keep stirring in between
  • When sabudana becomes transparent, add sugar and cook for another 5 minutes . sabudana Kheer or Sago pearls pudding is ready
  • Serve hot or cold...it tastes equally delicious and yummy .
