Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • Rice 200 grams(basmati )


  • Boiled chickpeas 1 cup


  • Finely chopped onions 2


  • Chopped tomato 1


  • Pepper corns 5


  • Cardamom 3


  • Cloves 4


  • Bay leaf 1


  • Cinnamon stick 1 inch


  • Oil 2 tablespoon


  • Hing 1 pinch


  • Salt 1 tsp or as per taste


  • Chilli powder 1 tsp or as per taste


  • Chole masala 1 tbsp


  • Coriander powder 1 tsp


  • Ghee 1 tbsp


  • Curry leaves 1 sprig

Directions

  • Heat oil in a pan. Add bay leaf hing cinnamon pepper corns cloves and cardamom. Add in chopped onions. Fry till they change colour. Add curry leaves.
  • Add hing. Add chopped tomatoes and green chillies.
  • In a bowl of chickpeas add red chilli powder coriander powder chole masala and salt. Mix well and add to the pan. Mix well.
  • Add rice which was soaked for 15 minutes. Transfer to a cooker. Add 2 bowls of water. Let it come to a boil.
  • Add 1 tbsp of ghee. Close lid and cook for 2 whistles. Remove the pressure.
  • Serve with raita.
