In a large pan , take tamarind extract, large piece jaggery, salt, turmeric powder, slit green chilli and Curry leaves
Get the tamarind water to boil.
Now add roughly chopped bhindi(okra) and mix well.
Cover and boil for 10 mins or till bhindi gets well cooked.
Further add cooked toor dal and 1/2 cup water adjusting consistency.
Boil for 3 mins or till the consistency is achieved.
Now prepare the tempering by heating 2 tsp oil in small kadai.
Add in 1 tsp Mustard seeds, 1 tsp urad dal Curry leaves, dried red chilli and pinch of hing. Allow to splutter.
Pour the tempering over sambar and add 2 tbsp Coriander leaves.
Finally give a good mix and serve okra dal sambar/ bendekayi huli with hot steamed rice.
