Ingredients

Serves : 12
  • Urad Dal 1 cup (Soaked for 5-6 hours) 1/4 cup Rice Flour or soaked Rice


  • 3 tbsp Yogurt


  • Ghee /Oil for Frying


  • Water ½ - ¾ Cup + little more for making Sugar Syrup


  • 1/4 tsp Orange or Yellow Food Colour


  • Cardamom powder ½ tsp (avoid if Making Dal Wali Jalebi)


  • Baking Powder 1 tsp​


  • Sugar 2 cup(For syrup)


  • Pistachios for Garnishing

Directions

  • Blend the Urad Dal and Rice in a Blender by adding water to it.
  • Make sure this paste should not be too thick and not too thin. Pour in a bowl, add rest of the ingredients.
  • Now fill this paste in a piping bag (you can use soft plastic bag or cloth).
  • Cut it from the bottom and start frying jalebis.
  • Cook in Moderately hot Ghee. Cook till Bubbling Reduces.
  • Flip to cook till crisp.
  • Cook in Moderately hot Ghee. Cook till Bubbling Reduces.
  • Drain and soak in sugar syrup for 2-3 minutes. Take them out of the syrup and serve hot.
  • For Sugar syrup- Add sugar and water in a deep pan on high heat, stirring continuously, till the sugar dissolves. Add cardamom powder (optional)and cook, stirring, till the syrup reaches one string consistency. Keep the syrup warm.
