  • Urad Dal 1 cup (Soaked for 5-6 hours) 1/4 cup Rice Flour or soaked Rice

  • 3 tbsp Yogurt

  • Ghee /Oil for Frying

  • Water ½ - ¾ Cup + little more for making Sugar Syrup

  • 1/4 tsp Orange or Yellow Food Colour

  • Cardamom powder ½ tsp (avoid if Making Dal Wali Jalebi)

  • Baking Powder 1 tsp​

  • Sugar 2 cup(For syrup)

  • Pistachios for Garnishing

    Blend the Urad Dal and Rice in a Blender by adding water to it.

    Make sure this paste should not be too thick and not too thin. Pour in a bowl, add rest of the ingredients.

    Now fill this paste in a piping bag (you can use soft plastic bag or cloth).

    Cut it from the bottom and start frying jalebis.

    Cook in Moderately hot Ghee. Cook till Bubbling Reduces.

    Flip to cook till crisp.

    Cook in Moderately hot Ghee. Cook till Bubbling Reduces.

    Drain and soak in sugar syrup for 2-3 minutes. Take them out of the syrup and serve hot.

    For Sugar syrup- Add sugar and water in a deep pan on high heat, stirring continuously, till the sugar dissolves. Add cardamom powder (optional)and cook, stirring, till the syrup reaches one string consistency. Keep the syrup warm.
