  • 1 cup chana dal soaked

  • 1 inch Ginger

  • 2 green chilli

  • 1 tsp cumin seeds

  • 2 tbsp Coriander leaves chopped

  • 3 tbsp chopped fenugreek leaves

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 pinch of hing

  • Oil for deep fry


  • In a large bowl soak 1 cup chana dal for 2 hours.
  • Drain off the water and rest for 20 mins. Or until the dal drains of water completely
  • Transfer the Soaked and drained chana dal into mixi jar
  • Also add 1 inch Ginger, 2 chilli , 1 tsp fennel seeds and 1 tsp cumin.
  • Blend to a coarse paste without adding any water
  • now Transfer the chana dal paste to a large mixing bowl.
  • Further add chopped coriander leaves, chopped fenugreek leaves, pinch hing and salt mix well. squeeze and combine them well.
  • Further more grease your hand with oil and prepare small balls, press with 2 palm's and flatten it.
  • Also deep fry in hot oil and Stir occasionally till until the dal vada turns golden and crispy.
  • Now serve dal vada hot along with masala tea.
