Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1 cup yellow lentils (moong dhuli dal)


  • 2 cups oil to fry mangodi


  • 1 inch ginger


  • 2 green chillies


  • 2 tsp salt


  • 1 cup sour curd


  • 1 tsp red chilli powder


  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds


  • 1/4 tsp hing


  • 2 glasses water


  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder


  • 2 tbsp ghee for gravy

Directions

  • Wash and soak dal for 1 hour in 2 cups of water
  • Now grind along with green chillies and ginger to make a smooth thick paste
  • Add half of the salt and pepper powder
  • Mix well and make it fluffy beating by hands
  • Now heat oil in a vok at medium heat
  • Make small mangodis and deep fry
  • Make all the same way
  • Soak them in water
  • Now in a pan heat ghee
  • Crackle mustard seeds, cumin seeds and hing
  • Add turmeric powder and chilli powder
  • Add water
  • Add salt
  • Add soaked mangodis
  • Take a boil then add beaten curd
  • Turn off the flame
  • Serve hot with chapati or rice
