Ingredients

Serves : 2
  • 1 cup soaked white chickpeas(Chole)


  • 1 Onion finely chopped


  • 1 tomato finely chopped


  • 1 bay leaf


  • 1 inch cinnamon stick


  • 2 cardamom


  • 2- 3 cloves


  • 2-4 black pepper


  • 4 tbsp fresh coconut


  • 1 tsp Kasuri methi


  • 2 tbsp Ginger garlic paste


  • 3 tbsp chopped coriander leaves


  • 1 tbsp Red chilli powder


  • 1 tsp Garam masala


  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds


  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder


  • 3 tbsp oil/ clarified butter


  • Salt to taste


  • Required water


  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

Directions

  • In the pressure cooker add soaked chole and little oil cook it for 3-4 whistles or till they soft. donot skip the soaking because it reduce the boiling time.
  • Heat butter in pan, splutter the cumin seeds, add bay leaf, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, pepper, Curry leaves.. saute on low flame. until they turns aromatic smell.
  • Now add chopped onion stir till they turns light golden brown colour. Then add Ginger garlic paste saute till its raw smell disappears.
  • Now add chopped tomato stir continuously they gets soft and mushy. after cool them completely. and transfer to the blender except bayleaf.
  • In the same blender add crushed kasturi methi, chopped coriander leaves, grated coconut and required little water grind it to smooth paste.
  • In the pan heat butter and add grinded mixture to it. Saute it well for a minute. Then add turmeric powder, chilli powder,coriander powder, garam masala and salt to taste .
  • Additionally add boiled chole and required water to desire gravy consistency mix well together.
  • Cover and boil it for few minutes.
  • Now garnish with some coriander leaves and serve hot with bhature, or chapati, rice...
