Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 2 cup For dough:- whole wheat flour


  • 2 tablespoon oil


  • 1 tsp salt


  • 1 cup For filling:tuver dal wash and drained


  • 1 & 1/4 cups sugar


  • 1/2 tsp saffron


  • 2 tablespoon ghee


  • 1/4 teaspoon elaichi powder


  • as needed Other ingredients:- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour for rolling


  • 1/4 cup Ghee for smearing

Directions

  • Combine the flour and oil in a bowl and knead into soft dough using enough water.
  • Divide the dough in to equal portions and keep aide.
  • Filling;:- Dissolve the saffron in a 2tsp water in a bowl and keep a side for 15 minutes.
  • Combine the dal with water in a pressure cooker mix well and pressure cook for 3-4 whistle.
  • Heat the ghee in a broad non stick pan add the dal and sugar mix well.
  • Cook on a medium flame for till the mixture thickens while stirring continuously and mashing at regular intervals.
  • Add all remaining ingredients and mix well. Cool slightly and divide it into equal portions.
  • Roll out one portion of the dough into a circle using a little whole wheat flour for rolling.
  • Place a portion of the filling in the center and fold edges of the dough over filling, pinch the edges together to seal the filling.
  • Flatten the dough and roll again into a circle using a little whole wheat flour fo rolling.
  • Cook on a tawa over a medium flame put chapati on top apply ghee both side roast it nice till it turns golden brown in colour from both the sides.
  • Smear a little ghee on each puran poli and serve hot.
