Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • Lobiya beans or Chawali 2 Cups


  • Roughly chopped onion 2


  • Roughly chopped tomato 4


  • Dry Coconut grated 2 tablespoons


  • Sesame seeds 2 teaspoons


  • Poppy seeds 2 teaspoons


  • Garlic cloves 8


  • Ginger 1 ince


  • Oil 2-4 tablespoons


  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon


  • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon


  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon


  • Garam masala 1 teaspoon


  • Coriander powder 1 teaspoon


  • Salt 1-2 teaspoons


  • Cinnamon stick 1

Directions

  • Wash lobiya in running water and soak for 1 hour in sufficient water
  • Add some salt and turmeric powder to it and pressure cook for 4-5 whistles or untill soft and done
  • Take dry spices
  • Dry roast
  • Take all in mixer jar and prepare a powder out of it
  • Now add chopped ginger garlic onion and tomato to it. heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds , Cinnamon stick and ready paste to it ... saute' well.... add all the powder spices to it and cook gravy until oil separates
  • And prepare a smooth paste of it
  • Add cooked lobiya , Salt to taste. ,little jaggery and tamarind pulp to it ... Cook covered on low heat .
  • Garnish with some chopped coriander, green chillies and pomegranate seeds (optional) and serve hot immediately with roti Puri paratha rice or naan
