  • 1 bunch of pumpkin (kaddu) leaves (about 150 gm)

  • 1/3 cup fried moong dal

  • 1 tbsp finely chopped onion

  • 1 tbsp finely chopped garlic

  • 1 tsp finely chopped green chilli

  • 2 tsp milk

  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds

  • 1 tbsp mustard oil

    Soak fried moong dal in water for 1 hour. Chop the kaddu saag finely.

    Pressure cook the dal and saag with 2 tbsp water to one whistle. Let the pressure release from the cooker.

    In a pan heat the oil. Splutter mustard seeds. Add chopped garlic and chilli. Fry for 1/2 minute.

    Mix chopped onion and fry till it softens. Add the boiled saag and dal to the pan. Mix well adjusting the salt.

    Cook in high flame till all water dries out from the pan. Switch off the gas and mix the milk nicely with the saag.
