Ingredients

Serves : 5
  • 1 cup senagapindi / besan


  • 1 cup sugar


  • 1 pinch orange / yellow food colour


  • 2 pinch edible camphor / pachcha karpooram


  • 1 pinch cardamom powder


  • 1 handful cashew


  • 1 handful kishmish


  • 2 tbsp ghee


  • 2 cups water


  • 3 cups oil for deep frying

Directions

  • In a bowl add senagapindi and make running batter by adding water gradually
  • Not very thin batter but lightly thick
  • Now in other pan add sugar and add water till sugar immerse and make sugar syrup
  • Syrup should be 2 string consistency it takes about 10min
  • After syrup is ready add food colour, edible camphor, cardamom powder and mix well
  • Now in a pan add ghee and allow to heat, add cashew and fry then later fry kishmish
  • Set them aside and use while binding ladoos
  • Now heat oil for deep frying that is to fry boondi
  • When oil is enough hot take a skimmer and pour batter on it
  • Spread batter all along the skimmer so that boondi fall into oil
  • Fry boondi till they turn golden color later transfer them directly into sugar syrup
  • Complete whole batter in between mix boondi and syrup mixture so that syrup is absorbed by all boondi
  • Once all boondi is completed mix well with syrup and add cashew, kishmish and mixwell
  • When it is enough hot make balls that is bind them using hands and place on a news paper
  • So that they will cool and bind together tightly
  • Once they are cooled you can have them
