Ingredients

Serves : 2
  • 1 medium size Chopped onions


  • 1 medium size tomato Chopped


  • 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste


  • 1 tsp cumin seeds


  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds


  • 3-4 Curry leaves chopped


  • 1 pinch of hing


  • 1 tbsp Red chilli powder


  • 1/4 tsp cumin powder


  • 1/4 tsp Coriander powder


  • 1/4 tsp Garam masala


  • Salt to taste


  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves


  • 1 tbsp oil


  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder

Directions

  • In a bowl add the Dal and soak for 5 hours then drain & wash thoroughly
  • Now heat the oil add mustard and cumin seeds allow it to splutter them.
  • Then add chopped Curry leaves, hing , Ginger garlic paste stir for few and add chopped onions saute well. until they turns translucent.
  • After add chopped tomato and cook for few minutes. They becomes soft and mushy.
  • Next add turmeric powder, chilli powder, cumin & coriander powder, garam masala salt mix well.
  • Now add drained, and rinsed arhar dal and add needed water stir well.
  • Cover and cook for until the dal 98% cooked.
  • Lastly add chopped coriander leaves and saute well with all ingredients.
  • Now enjoy side dish for chapati or rice.
