Cauliflower Arhar Dal Curry

  • 1 cup overnight soaked Arhar dal (tuvar dal)

  • 2 cup medium size chopped cauliflower florets

  • 1 large Onion chopped

  • 1 tsp cumin seeds

  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds

  • 1 pinch of hing

  • 2 tbsp Oil/ Ghee

  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder

  • 1 tsp Garam masala

  • 1 tsp Coriander powder

  • Salt to taste

  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

  • 2 tbsp Red chilli powder

  • 2.1/2 cup water

  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder


  • In a bowl take warm water add 1/2 tsp of salt and turmeric powder mix well. Then put cauliflower florets into it. Leave it for 10-15 mins. Because turmeric and salt remove the dust, chemical and insects from florets therefore ..
  • After remove and wash thoroughly 2 to 3 times under running water.
  • Now heat the Ghee or oil in pan and add cumin seeds and mustard seeds. While they popping , add hing and chopped Onion's.
  • Fry till they turns translucent. Next add gobi/ cauliflower florets into it. Mix well on medium flame.
  • Cover and cook 2-3 mins on low flame while stirring occasionally.
  • Now add Red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt to taste, Garam masala mix well .
  • Soon add soaked, rinsed and drained arhar dal into it. stir well.
  • Further add water as needed , Cover and boil until dal and florets are well cooked. stirring occasionally.
  • Lastly add chopped coriander leaves. And Mix well.
  • Now cauliflower dal Curry is ready to serve.
