Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1 cupWhole black gram


  • 1/2 cup rajma


  • 1 onion chopped


  • 4 tomatoes chopped


  • 1 inch ginger


  • 2- 3 green chilli


  • 2 bay leaves


  • 1 small cinnamon stick


  • 1 spoon kasuri methi


  • 1 spoon salt or as per taste


  • 1/2 spoon turmeric


  • 1/2 spoon kashmiri red chilli powder


  • 1 spoon coriander powder


  • 1/2 cup fresh cream


  • 2 spoon butter


  • 1/4 spoon garam masala powder


  • 1/2 spoon cumin


  • 2 spoon chopped coriander leaves

Directions

  • Wash and soak the dal and rajma overnight. In the morning again wash with water.
  • In a pressure cooker put soaked dal, 2 glass of water, cinnamon sticks, bay leaves and close the lid.
  • Take one whistle than keep it on simmer for 15 minutes than switch off flame.
  • Grind onion, tomato, ginger and green chilli into a fine paste.
  • Heat butter in a pan add cumin, ground paste to it.
  • Add salt, turmeric, red chilli powder and coriander powder fry these masalas until oil starts separating.
  • Lightly mash boiled dal with laddle and add it to fried masala and cook it for 10 minutes.
  • Now add cream, garam masala powder and crushed kasuri methi mix well and another cook for 2- 3 min.
  • Finally add coriander leaves and switch off the gas. Serve hot with any paratha , nan or rice.
