Besan ki Masala Roti

  • 1 cup Gram flour (Besan)

  • 1/2 cup Wheat flour

  • Water to knead

  • 1 tsp red chilli powder

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp Cumin powder

  • 1 tsp Coriander powder

  • 1 tsp Garam masala powder

  • Salt to taste

  • Ghee for roasting

  • 1/2 tsp Sambar Powder


  • In a bowl Mixed all the masala spices mentioned above in the ingredients
  • Add little bit of water and make the thick paste .
  • Next take a bowl add the gram flour and Wheat flour in a mixing bowl .
  • sprinkle some water to knead it into a dough , rest it for about 10-15 mins.
  • After 15 mins, take the dough and divide into equal Portion of medium size balls.
  • Take one ball and roll it out by dusting it with a minimum of flour as needed, then apply masala filling to the center. spread it out a little.
  • Apply neatly Then fold it in half ,
  • Fold it again from one side to another to for a triangle. refer to the stepwise photo.
  • Now roll the folded triangle again either retaining the same shape or shaping it into a circle.
  • Heat the tawa and once it is hot , place this on the tawa,
  • after 10-15 seconds. flip it apply some ghee on top then flip it again.
  • Apply ghee on the another side. Now cook both sides until brown spots appear. And it begins to slightly puff.
  • Follow the same process with the remaining dough. Finally Besan ki Masala roti is ready to serve.
