Ingredients

Serves 4

  • 1 cup black eyed beans

  • 1 tsp cumin seeds

  • 2 tsp coriander seeds

  • 2 inch dry coconut piece or 2tsp dry coconut powder

  • 1 tsp sesame seeds

  • 2..3 whole dry red chillies

  • 1 cup chopped spinach

  • 1 onion

  • 5..6 garlic cloves

  • 1 tsp oil to roast garlic and onion

  • 2 tbsp tamarind pulp

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder

Directions

    Wash and soak black eyed beans (lobia)

  • 02

    Boil adding salt, turmeric powder, chopped spinach and water till soft

  • 03

    Now dry roasted coriander seeds, cumin seeds, sesame seeds and dry red chillies and grinded

  • 04

    Roast garlic cloves, onion slices and coconut and again grind along with earlier grinded powder

  • 05

    Add tamarind paste in it

  • 06

    Add this to boiled lobia and cook covered with a lid for 5 minutes to simmer

  • 07

    After 5 minutes turn off the flame and serve hot
