  • 1 cup black chana

  • 2 tbsp besan

  • 2 tsp oil

  • 1 tsp mustard seeds

  • 1/4 tsp hing

  • 2 tsp jaggary

  • 2 tsp tamrind water

  • 2 tsp red chilli powder

  • 2 tsp dhania jeera powder

  • 1 tsp garam masala


  • Soak chana in water overnight. Remove the water, transfer it to pressure cooker and add enough water. Make 6 whistles.
  • After chana is boiled, add tempering to it. In an oil, add mustard seeds, carrom seeds and let it crackle. Now add hing and add it to chana.
  • Add required quantity of water. Add salt, chilli powder, dhania jeera powder, garam masala, tamrind water,jaggary and mix it.
  • In a bowl, take besan and add 3 tbsp water to make slurry. Mix this slurry to boiling chana.
  • After you get desired consistency, switch off the flame. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve it with rice and roti
