To begin making Steamed Bafauri Recipe, wash and soak the chana dal for 3 to 4 hours in water.
Drain the soaked chana.
Transfer drained dal to the jar of a mixer grinder.
Add cumin seeds, black pepper, garlic cloves and one 2 green chilli and grind it to a smooth paste and take it out in a bowl.
Add the chopped onions, coriander leaves, carom seeds, green chilli, turmeric powder, Kashmiri red chili powder, salt, baking powder and mix well.
Place a steamer pot on heat and bring the water to a rolling boil.
Grease the steamer attachment plate, make small round balls of the prepared mixture and place it on the greased steamer plate.
