Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 150 gram split pigeon peas lentils (Toor dal)


  • 2 green chillies


  • 1 inch ginger


  • 8..9 curry leaves


  • 1 tsp salt


  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds


  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder


  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds


  • 1/4 tsp hing


  • 1 tbsp ghee


  • 1 tsp cilantro leaves chopped


  • 2 dry whole red peppers

Directions

  • Wash and soak the dal for 15 minutes
  • Boil adding 1 glass water,salt and turmeric powder for 10 minutes
  • Mash it
  • Heat ghee in tadka pan
  • Crackle curry leaves,whole red peppers, cumin seeds and mustard seeds
  • Add hing, chopped chillies and ginger
  • Add this tadka in boiled dal
  • Turn off the flame
  • Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves
  • Serve with rice
