Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 2 cups of black chickpeas


  • 3 tomatoes fi ely chopped


  • 3 onions finely chopped


  • 1 bunch coriander finely chopped


  • 1 tbsp salt


  • 1 tbsp red chilly powder


  • 1 pinch turmeric powder


  • 1 tbsp garam masala


  • 1 tbsp chaat masala


  • 1 tbsp jeera powder


  • 1 tbsp coriander powder


  • 3 tbsp oil/ghee


  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste


  • 1 lemon size tamarind pulp

Directions

  • Soak black chickpeas for whole night or for minimum of 4hrs
  • Transfer them into a pressure cooker add salt, water and cook for 3 whistles
  • Later you can remove outer peel or you can continue with that
  • In a pan add oil/ghee and add ginger garlic paste
  • Saute for a minute now add onions, tomatoes, salt, turmeric powder and fry till they turn mushy
  • Now add tamarind pulp, chickpea and cook for 5min
  • After it start releasing oil add red chilly powder, jeera, coriander, garam masala, chaat masala
  • Saute for 2 to 3 min and add coriander
  • Transfer to a serving plate and garnish with onions and coriander and sprinkle light garam masala
  • If you wish you can add sweet and green chutney along with curd
