  • 1 cup rajma

  • 2 cup basmati rice

  • 1 onion

  • 1 tsp ginger paste

  • 1 tsp garlic paste

  • 2 tsp cumin seeds

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

  • 2 tsp red chilli powder

  • 2 tsp or as per taste salt

  • 1 tsp garam masala

  • 1 lemon juice


  • Soak rajma in sufficient water for at least 8 hours.
  • Pressure cook it up to 6 whistles. Add salt while cooking it.
  • Soak rice in water for about 15 minutes. In a, large vessel, keep a water to boil and add salt to it.
  • After it starts boiling, add rice in boiling water. Also and a spoonful of ghee so that each grain will remain separate.
  • After rice gets cooked, transfer it to a seive to let the access water drain.
  • Take oil in pan. Add cumin seeds. After it crackles, add onion, ginger garlic paste, salt and let it saute.
  • then add a garam masala, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and mix it well. Add little bit salt as we have already added salt while cooking rice.
  • Now add cooked rice, boiled rajma and lemon juice. Give it a good mix.
