Ingredients

  • 1cup bengal gram


  • 1/2tsp salt


  • 1/4tsp turmeric powder


  • 1/2tsp red chillipowder


  • 1/4tsp garammasala


  • 1/4tsp dry mango powder


  • 8tbsp oil


  • 1 1/2tsp cumin seeds


  • 4-5greenchilli slit


  • 8-10curry leaves


  • 1 medium onion chopped


  • 1/2cup chopped corrienderleaves


  • 1cup refined flour


  • 2 tbsp whole wheat flour


  • 1tbsp semolina


  • 10-12 black pepper corns crushed

Directions

  • Soak chanadal in three cups of water for about 1 hour.Drain & boil with three cups of water,salt,&turmeric powder till just done.
  • Heat a pan add the boiled dal &half a cup of water ,if the dal is too dry.Stir&add half the red chilli powder,half the garam masala powder,dry mango powder & adjust salt.
  • Stir gently &Cook on low heat .Heat three tbsp of oil in another pan & add one tspcumin seeds.
  • When they begin to change colour ,add green chillies ,curry leaves,remaining garam masala powder,remaining red chilli powder.
  • Stir & add it to the dal .Mix well&take it of the heat.
  • To make pakwan sift refined flour &wheat flour in to a large bowl.
  • Adf semolina,1/2tsp cuminseeds crushed,blackpepper corns 4tbsp of oil &salt.
  • Add sufficient water &Knead into a semi soft dough.
  • Divide the dough into eight portions &roll each portion into achapati of four ench diameter.
  • Prick lightly with a fork.Heat sufficient oil in a kadhei& deep fry pakwan on low heat till golden&crisp.
  • Drain on absorbent paper.Garnish the dal with chopped corrienderleaves&onion serve it hot with pakwan.
