In a mixing bowl, add the coconut, green chillies, curry leaves, corriander, jeera, salt and sugar. Mix these well with your fingers till they blend well .
Now add the ragi flour and mix it with your fingers well. Add water little by little and make a soft dough.
Take a thick tawa and apply it with oil.
Pinch out equal sized balls and keep aside .
Take one ball and pat into a thin roti on the tava. Wet your palm so that you can spread the roti easily on the tawa
Drizzle oil inside the holes and all around the roti . The pricking of holes ensures even cooking of the roti.
Keep the tawa on medium and cook covered for 2 mins till the underside gets cooked.
Carefully open the lid and flip over using a spatula and drizzle some more oil and cook until it becomes crispy
Serve hot with powdered jaggery and fresh ghee. You can also serve with chutney if you like. Finely chopped onions also can be added to the dough while kneading.
