Ingredients

Serves : 2
  • 100 grams Spinach Leaves


  • 100 gram besan


  • 120 ml water


  • 1/2 tsp baking soda


  • 1/2 tsp citric acid


  • 1 tsp sugar


  • 1 tsp oil


  • 2 tsp salt


  • 2 tablespoons oil


  • 2 tbsp urad dal


  • 2 tbsp chana dal


  • 3 dry red chillies


  • 1 tsp mustard seeds


  • 1 tsp fenugreek seeds


  • 1 tsp cumin seeds


  • 4 garlic cloves


  • 3 tsp dedicated coconut


  • 2 tsp oil


  • 1 tsp mustard seed

Directions

  • Put the spinach in boiling water for about three minutes. Remove it from water and immerse it in cold water for few seconds. Remove it from water and transfer to a mixi jar. Make puree of it.
  • Mix salt, sugar, baking soda, citric acid to besan.
  • Add oil, spinach puree, water and prepare the dhokla batter. Keep the water in a steamer to boil. Spread the prepared mixture on the plate which is greased with oil and put it in a steamer to cook it immediately. It will be ready in about 15 minutes.
  • Let it cool down. Then cut it into the shape of a round disc.
  • To make podi masala, put oil in the pan. Add mustard seeds, fenugreek, cumin, urad dal, chana dal, dry red chilli, garlic cloves and roast it until lentils changes it's color. Add dry dedicated coconut and stir for a few seconds.
  • with the help of Mixi jar grind the above ingredients to a coarse powder.
  • Now to prepare a tadka, Add oil to a pan and when heated, add mustard seeds and sesame seeds. After it splutter, add 1 teaspoon podi masala to it mad mix it well.
  • Pour this tadka over the dhokla disk. Serve with podi masala and tomato ketchup. Healthy palak dhokla with podi masala is ready.
