  • Aval/poha- 1 cup

  • Sugar/vellam/jaggery-1cup

  • Ghee-2 teaspoons

  • Cashewnuts,almond and raisins-1 to 2 teaspoons

  • A pinch of cardamom-1/2 teaspoon

  • Milk-2 cups

    Wash and soak poha in water for ten minutes

  • 02

    Boil milk and simmer it for few minutes.

  • 03

    Add the soaked aval/poha in the milk and adjust the flame to medium and cook it till it becomes soft

  • 04

    Add sugar and stir well

  • 05

    Roast the nuts and raisins in ghee and add it to the cooking mixture with cardamom powder

  • 06

    Give a mild stir. Yummy aval /poha kheer is ready to eat
