Ingredients

Serves : 3
  • Ingredients for Rava putt : rava - 2 cups


  • Cooked rice - 1 cup


  • Grated coconut - 1/2 cup


  • Salt - 1/2 tspn


  • Ingredients for chicken gravy : Chicken - 300grm


  • For boiling chicken : Ginger garlic paste - 1tspn


  • Red chilli powder - 2 tspn


  • Termeric powder - 1/4 tspn


  • Salt - 1/4 tspn


  • Water - 2 cup


  • For gravy : Onion -2 medium


  • Green chilli - 3


  • Tomato - 1 medium


  • Red chilli powder - 2tspn


  • Corrainder powder - 2 tspn


  • Termeric pwder -1/2 tspn


  • Curry leaves 2strings


  • Corriander leaves 1/4 cup chopped


  • Oil 4 tblspn


  • Water -3 glass

Directions

  • Direction of Rava Putt : Heat a pan, add rava and dry roast it till the nice aroma comes from it
  • Remove from the heat and allow to cool completely.
  • mix rava, cooked rice, grated coconut and salt in a bowl
  • Mix altogether using your hand
  • Then, Put everything into a mixer jar ആൻഡ് grind like a powder
  • Transfer to a bowl and mix well
  • Sprinkle little water and start mixing it using your hand.
  • Keep on adding warm water little by little and mixing till the rava becomes wet fully and resembles bread crumbs. I used around 1 cup of water for 2 cups of rava.
  • Add 2 tbsps of coconut to the bottom of a Puttu Kuti (mould for making Puttu). Then add one ladle full of rava mixture followed by coconut. 
  • Continue doing this until the putty kutty fills completely with coconut and rava mixture
  • Take water in a Puttu Kudam (Vessel for making Puttu) or pressure cooker and allow it to boil. Place the Puttu Kuti on top of the Puttu Kudam or pressure cooker and allow it to steam.
  • Cook for 7-8 minutes after steam starts coming out of the Puttu Kutti.
  • Rava puttu is ready
  • Direction for chicken gravy : In this Chick n Gravy, the gravy is made after the chicken is boiled
  • Firstly clean the chicken pieces and put in a vessel
  • boil with salt, termeric powder, red chilli powder and half cup of water
  • Remove the chicken, when it becomes cooked
  • Take a pan and add 2 tblsn of oil
  • When it becomes hot, add chopped onion green chilli and saute well
  • After that add chopped tomato and saute for another 2-3 minutes
  • Then, add termeric powder red chilli powder and corriander powder and mix well until the raw smell goes
  • Then off the flame and keep aside. Wait for it to warm up
  • Now grind a smooth paste and keep aside
  • Heat the same pan and add 2tblsn of oil and saute termeric powder red chilli powder and corriainder powder
  • Then saute well
  • Add the ground paste and Saute until the water has drained
  • Then add boiled chicken with gravy if any,
  • Then mix well until well combined and cook for 5 minutes or until the gravy thickens
  • Add enough salt and water as needed
  • Then add curry leaves and chopped corriander leaves
  • Our simple chicken curry is ready
  • Serve with hot rava putt and enjoyy!!!!
